Gladbrook is located in Tama County in central Iowa. A post office called Gladbrook has been in operation since 1880.[4] The name Gladbrook was coined by a railroad official.[

During the National Bank Note Era, the population of Gladbrook was 842 in 1900, staying fairly constant with 891 in 1930. It's highest population was 1,015 in 2000, and the current population is estimated at 861 (2018).
