Town History
Marysville is a borough in Perry County, Pennsylvania. The population was 2,652 at the 2020 census. In 1900 the population was 1,463 climbing to 1,922 in 1930.
The Borough was settled in 1755, incorporated as the Borough of Haley in 1866, and re-incorporated as the Borough of Marysville in 1867.
The Rockville Bridge was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1975. The stone-arch bridge crosses the Susquehanna River about 5 miles north of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. The eastern end is in Rockville and the western end is just south of Marysville.
Marysville had one National Bank chartered during the Bank Note Era, and it issued National Bank Notes.

In March 1903, the Comptroller of the Currency approved the application for incorporation of the First National Bank of Marysville with capital stock of $25,000 and the following incorporators: P.F. Duncan, George Pennell, William Wills, of Duncannon; J.W. Beers and Elmer J. Sellers of Marysville. The bank opened for business on August 10th, 1904, with Jos. W. Place, president; Hon. J. Harper Seidel, vice president, J.W. Beers, vice president; and James E. Wilson, former teller for the Duncannon National Bank, cashier. The directors were J. Harper Seidel, J.W. Beers, J.W. Taubert, H.J. Deckard, E. Walter Snyder, C.S. Wise, Josiah W. Place, Alfred B. Potterton, and Jacob S. Bitner.
On January 14, 1919, the stockholders re-elected the old board of directors. They included J.W. Place of New York City, J.W. Beers, E.B. Leiby, H.J. Deckard, Dr. E. Walt Snyder, F.W. Geib, Z.T. Collier and Harvey Bratton.
In January 1939, the stockholders elected their directors as follows: J.H. Bratton, J.H. Shull, F.W. Geib, G.C. Bitting, Dr. C.R. Snyder, and H.J. Deckard. Officers elected were H.J. Deckard, president, J.H. Bratton, first vice president; John D. Shull, second vice president; F.W. Geib, cashier; Edgar S. Smith, assistant cashier, and Scott S. Leiby, solicitor. Mr. Deckard passed away in 1939 and J.D. Shull was elected president and Dr. C.R. Snyder, vice president in 1940.
