These instructions will show you how to Add a new Obsolete Bank History page to this wiki.

Adding an Obsolete Bank History page

  • Be sure you are logged into your account on this wiki to allow you to create/edit pages (see Main Page for login details if needed).
  • First, check the appropriate State index link above, to make sure this Bank History page is not already set up.
  • If the Bank History page does not yet exist, use the input box below to enter the Title of the new page to be created.
    • Be sure the title for the new Bank History page is in the proper format:
      • BankName, BankTown, State (Haxby XX-###)
      • For example: First National Bank, Pipestone, MN (Charter 3982)
  • You can then Click the 'Create a new Bank History page' to create the new page, and start editing it.
    • For consistency, you should use the Template provided when creating the new Bank History page.
    • The Template will automatically be copied into your new Bank History page, and includes relevant text for standard content Headers, and also image links, etc. that you can modify as you wish, or just delete if not needed.
    • When first creating the page, we recommend that you make minimal edits (ie just change the Bankname in the first section), and then click the 'Save changes' button at the bottom of the page. The first time you Save is when the new wiki page will actually be created. Then you can continue to Edit/ShowPreview/SaveChanges as needed to finish the modifications for your Bank History page.
  • Note: You will need to upload any image files you will be displaying before you can link to them. Use the 'Upload File' link on the left panel to upload image file(s).
  • The Bank History page does not have to be perfect to start with, the main thing is to get it started with whatever information you have. Then you (or other users) can edit the page to improve the content over time.
  • Until the wiki index links have been set up to link to your new page, when you need to find the page, you can just enter the town name in the wiki search box in the upper right hand corner, and your new page will be listed in the search results.



  • Bank Note History Wiki and Banks & Bankers Database links:
    • To view the new Bank History page from the Bank Histories Index page page, the corresponding links will need to be set up.
      • The wiki administrator will be periodically checking for new Bank History pages, and will set up the links as needed, or you can send an email to BankNoteHistory@gmail.com to alert them that the wiki links need to be set up for this Bank History page.
      • Of course, once you get some experience at editing wiki pages, you can just go ahead and edit the relevant wiki pages to set up those links yourself!
    • To view this Bank History page from the Banks & Bankers Database search website, a link will need to be set up for this Bank in the Database.
      • The wiki administrator will be periodically checking for new Bank History pages, and will set up the links in the B&B Database as needed, or you can email them at BankNoteHistory@gmail.com to alert them that the Database link needs to be set up for this Bank History page.
